Loess Letters- Dr. Ian Smalley

Hi LMN users! As I stated in my previous announcement, I recently published a pair of papers regarding loess in Tell Fara (found in the "Papers" tab to the right). While working on these papers, I found a very insightful series of documents called the "Loess Letters" written by Dr. Ian Smalley, hosted on Michigan State University's website archive. The content is fantastic, but the loess art in the letters was absolutely beautiful, and my favorite drawings from letters 50 and 51 are below. The link to the letters is attached, they are very well done and I hope you all enjoy!

Papers 3&4!

Hi LMN users! I just published my third and fourth papers, which can be found in the "Papers" tab in the sidebar to the left. Both papers focus on establishing Tell Fara (Northeastern Negev) as a Martian water analog research station. These papers are intended to be read as a pair, so there is some overlapping content (especially in the literature review). The first paper, "Water Extraction from Loess in Tell Fara (Negev Desert) and Martian Soil According to the Five Factors of Soil Formation (CLORPT)", focuses on the extraction of absorbed water in Tell Fara, because absorbed water can be extracted from soil on Mars, so I think this should be practiced beforehand. The second paper, "Low Magnetic Susceptibility Values as a Means of Subsurface Aquifer Detection in Tell Fara (Negev Desert) with Applications to Martian Water", focuses on the detection of anicent underground water through low magnetic susceptibility values. In between writing my last pair of papers and this pair, I've started using a Mac, which unfortunately means that I've lost access to Microsoft paint and that the figures in these recent papers will be a lot less exciting. In any case, I hope you all enjoy reading them!

My first two papers are posted!

Hi LMN users! Along with the launch of this blog, my first two papers are posted and can be found in the "Papers" tab in the sidebar to the left. Both papers focus on mycology (the study of fungi) and its implications on terraformation. The first one, "Revolutionizing Martian Construction by Determining the Melanin Concentrations and Growth Patterns of Extremophilic, Filamentous Fungi in Nahal Shaharut (Negev Desert)", focuses on construction on Mars through fungal bio composities, while the second one, "Radiated Aspergillus Niger Acting as a Natural UV Radiation Detector and Transforming Nahal Shaharut (Negev Desert) into a Martian Simulator" focuses on a potential Southern Negev UV radiation research station. I wrote them with the intention of having them read as a pair, I hope you all enjoy!

LMN is launched!

Welcome LMN users! I'm so thrilled to be launching this blog. Its focus will be Martian terraformation, which is the hypothetical process of modifying a planet to make it habitable for humans. The papers I write can be found on this site only, and you don't need to be a space expert (yet) to read them. I'm very excited for what's to come with my Martian Negev!
